Broos Includes Mbatha, Basadien And Dortley For Bafana Squad
Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos has announced his final squad of 23 players for the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Uganda and South Sudan.
Bafana will host Uganda at Orlando Stadium on 6 September before traveling to Juba to face South Sudan four days later.
These qualifiers have been condensed into September, October, and November, while the 2025 AFCON will take place from December 2025 to January 2026.
New faces in the squad include Stellenbosch defender Fawaaz Basadien and Orlando Pirates midfielder Thalente Mbatha. Percy Tau is also not part of the Bafana Bafana because he has been unsettled with his club Al Ahly.
However, captain Ronwen Williams has been ruled out due to an injury. He has missed the first two matches of the season for Sundowns. It will be interesting to see who will start in goals in these two matches.
