CAF Confirms CCL And CCC Draw Date

South African giants Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns will learn their CAF Champions League quarter-final opponents on Thursday. Stellenbosch will also find out who they face in the Confederation Cup quarter-finals on the same day, CAF has announced.
Pirates, who last won the Champions League in 1995 and reached the final in 2013, topped Group C, ahead of defending champions Al Ahly. This first-place finish means the Soweto giants will be seeded in the draw, giving them the advantage of hosting the second leg at Orlando Stadium.
Sundowns, who won the competition in 2016, finished second in Group B and will be unseeded in the draw, meaning they will play the second leg away.
The same applies to Stellenbosch, who are making their debut in the Confederation Cup this season. They finished second in their group behind RS Berkane.
“The draw will be conducted in Qatar’s capital, Doha, in partnership with CAF media rights partner, beIN Sport, on Thursday, 20 February 2025, where CAF will determine the exciting quarter-final fixtures for both competitions,” CAF said in a statement on Wednesday.
“The TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup draw will take place at 14:00 GMT (16:00 Cairo time), followed by the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League draw at 15:00 GMT (17:00 Cairo time).
“The quarter-finals of both competitions will be played over two legs. The first leg of the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League is scheduled for 1-2 April and 8-9 April, while the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup quarter-final fixtures are set for 2 April and 9 April 2025.
“Both draws will feature the reigning champions of each competition: Al Ahly SC, the current TotalEnergies CAF Champions League title holders, and Zamalek SC, the defending TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup champions.”
