Casric Announce New Coach Along With Ex Chiefs Defender
Motsepe Foundation Championship side Casric Stars have signed 18 players ahead of the upcoming season. The club has also appointed Sundra Govinder as their new head coach, following his links to Marumo Gallants.
Govinder will be assisted by former Free State Stars assistant coach Selaotse “Sly” Mosala.
Experienced football administrator Peter Koutroulis has joined the club as football manager, bringing with him the experience of helping Magesi secure promotion to the Betway Premiership last season.
Among the notable signings for Stars, who are aiming for promotion, is Yagan Sasman, previously with Kaizer Chiefs, Cape Town Spurs. The club has also secured the services of goalkeeper Marc Anderson, son of former Mamelodi Sundowns and Bafana Bafana player Mark Anderson.
Additionally, former AmaZulu players Siyabonga Vilane and Boysen Mbatha, previously with Pretoria Callies, have joined the club.
Casric Stars will kick off their 2024/25 Motsepe Foundation Championship campaign with an away match against newly-formed Durban City at Chatsworth Stadium this Friday (19:30).
