Magesi Assesses Mzava, Sekgota, Sasman And Many Others

Magesi FC, fresh off their Motsepe Foundation Championship win and promotion to the DStv Premiership, are currently assessing six players for potential signings, according to sources.

These players are Menzi Ndwandwe, Limbikani Mzava, Nation Ndlovu, Kgaogelo Sekgota, Yagan Sasman, and Jacob Everson. A decision on signing any of them could be made as early as Wednesday.

Limbikani Mzava, a former Bloemfontein Celtic player, has been clubless since leaving AmaZulu two years ago under coach Benni McCarthy.

Interestingly, Mzava previously played under Magesi’s current coach, Clinton Larsen, from 2016 until Larsen’s departure in December 2018. Mzava then moved to Highlands Park in 2019 before joining AmaZulu in 2020.

He boasts a Carling Knockout trophy win with Celtic in the 2012/13 season, defeating Mamelodi Sundowns in the final.

Yagan Sasman, with experience at Ajax Cape Town, Kaizer Chiefs, and Moroka Swallows, most recently played for AFC Eskilstuna in Sweden. Notably, he was part of Chiefs team that lost the CAF Champions League final to Al Ahly in 2021.

Nation Ndlovu, who played for Pretoria Callies last season, was previously part of the TS Galaxy squad that won the Nedbank Cup in the 2018/19 season, defeating Chiefs in the Durban final.

Menzi Ndwandwe, a veteran with stints at AmaZulu, Celtic, Uthongathi, Royal AM, and Galaxy, was released by Chippa United at the end of last season.

Kgaogelo Sekgota, a former attacker for Chiefs and Bidvest Wits, was released by Stellenbosch midway through last season after struggling to find a regular spot under coach Steve Barker.

Jacob Everson seeks a new opportunity with Magesi after his former club, Moroka Swallows, unfortunately was sold to Marumo Gallants recently.
