Magesi FC Clinch DStv Prem Promotion

Clinton Larsen’s Magesi FC secured promotion to the DStv Premiership for next season after defeating Milford FC 3-1 on Sunday.
The victory at Old Peter Mokaba Stadium officially crowned Magesi champions of the Motsepe Foundation Championship. With 54 points at the top of the log, they established a six-point lead over second-placed Pretoria University with just one game remaining.
Magesi enjoyed a formidable season, suffering only five defeats and drawing seven, while achieving an impressive 15 victories throughout the 2023/24 campaign.
Former Golden Arrows coach Larsen will make a triumphant return to the DStv Premiership after guiding Magesi to promotion in his first full season at the helm. He joined the club midway through last season.
The 53-year-old, a former Orlando Pirates defender, last appeared in the topflight during his eight-month stint with Polokwane City, which ended in 2020 when they were relegated to the Motsepe Foundation Championship. Notably, he won the Carling Knockout trophy with Bloemfontein Celtic in the 2012/13 season.
Founded in 2011, the Polokwane-based Magesi will make their historic debut in the South African topflight when the 2024/25 season kicks off.
