Chiefs Secure Signing Of Ighodaro

Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed the signing of Nigerian striker Etiosa Ighodaro.
It is unclear whether Chiefs paid a transfer fee to Mamelodi Sundowns for the player. Since joining Sundowns in July 2021, Ighodaro has not played for the club. He spent last season on loan at AmaZulu, but the club could not retain him, and he returned to Sundowns.
Although still contracted to Sundowns, he has not been part of their team training during the recent offseason. In the past, Sundowns loaned him to other clubs, including Chippa United, the University of Pretoria, and SuperSport United.
“Kaizer Chiefs have acquired the services of another striker, Etiosa Ighodaro. We would like to welcome him to the Kaizer Chiefs Family,” the club stated.
Throughout his time in the PSL, Ighodaro has scored 25 goals and provided four assists in 97 matches across all competitions.
Ighodaro is the eighth player to join Chiefs during this transfer window. He joins Nkanyiso Shinga, Ethan Chislett, Flavio Silva, Paseka Mako, Thabiso Monyane, Siphesihle Ndlovu, and Asanele Velebayi.
