Chiefs Suffer Shocking Defeat, Miss Out on Top Eight

Kaizer Chiefs’ DStv Premiership campaign ended in disappointment with a shocking 2-0 defeat to Cape Town Spurs at Cape Town Stadium on the final day of the season.
Despite already being relegated, Spurs forward Ashley Cupido set the tone for the match with a 37th-minute opener, one of only two shots they managed on target in the first half. Chiefs, on the other hand, struggled to create chances, registering only one shot on target in the first 45 minutes with six attempts overall.
In an attempt to salvage the situation, coach Cavin Johnson made three substitutions at halftime, bringing on midfielders Mduduzi Mdantsane and Yusuf Maart, as well as forward Ranga Chivaviro. However, these changes had minimal impact, with Chiefs still managing just one shot on target in the second half.
City veteran defender Michael Morton added another goal in the 74th minute to secure a convincing 2-0 victory. This defeat not only knocked Amakhosi out of the top eight but also saw them plummet to a 10th-place finish, marking one of their worst finishes in PSL history.
