City Secures Ghanaian Midfielder

Promotion-chasing Durban City has secured the services of former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Victor Bakah.

Bakar has been signed from Kruger United as City bolsters its squad in its pursuit of the top spot in the Motsepe Foundation Championship.

Durban City, rebranded from Maritzburg United at the beginning of the season, currently leads the second tier with 28 points from 14 matches, two points ahead of second-placed JDR Stars.

Abubakar reunites with City coach Simo Dladla, having previously worked with him at Richards Bay and Royal Eagles.

The 28-year-old arrived in South Africa in July 2017/18 season when he was signed by Royal Eagles.

Throughout his career, Bakar won the Motsepe Foundation Championship title with Richards Bay under Pitso Dladla in the 2021/22 season.

He was the runners-up in the second-tier competition in the 2018/19 with Eagles.
