City Swaps Makhubela For Ndwandwe In Surprise Deal

Sportswire has been informed that Motsepe Foundation Championship side Durban City has signed striker Menzi Ndwandwe in a player exchange deal that saw Ntsako Makhubela move to Magesi FC.
Makhubela was signed by Durban City a few weeks ago but was granted leave to address personal matters. However, it has emerged that Makhubela instead joined Magesi, a club based in his home province of Limpopo.
Following allegations that Makhubela had signed contracts with both clubs, a resolution was reached: a player exchange. Durban City received Ndwandwe in return.
Ndwandwe joined Magesi from Chippa United during the off-season. He saw limited game time with the Limpopo side, accumulating only 47 minutes of play. Notably, Magesi won the Carling Knockout title in November last year, defeating Mamelodi Sundowns in a stunning upset.
The 27-year-old striker has also played for Bloemfontein Celtic, where he was part of the team that lost the MTN8 final to Orlando Pirates in the 2020/21 season. His career also includes stints with Uthongathi, AmaZulu, Royal AM, TS Galaxy, and All Stars.
By joining Durban City, who currently lead the Motsepe Foundation Championship, Ndwandwe reunites with his former coach, Simo Dladla, who is now in charge of the Durban-based side.
This reunion also applies to Makhubela, a product of Orlando Pirates. He previously worked with Dladla at Royal Eagles. Makhubela’s career includes spells with Golden Arrows, Pirates, Moroka Swallows, and Richards Bay, his most recent club before signing with Durban City and subsequently moving to Magesi.
