Magesi Lose Another Coach

Magesi FC have parted ways with assistant coach Papi Zothwane, marking another managerial change for the struggling club.
Zothwane’s departure follows the resignation of head coach Clinton Larsen in December.
Larsen stepped down after Magesi suffered a defeat against the Carling All-Star team at Orlando Stadium in December, citing his frustration with the team’s performance.
Zothwane, a former Mamelodi Sundowns and Golden Arrows midfielder, was brought in by Larsen at the beginning of the season after Magesi secured promotion to the Betway Premiership from the Motsepe Foundation Championship under Larsen’s guidance.
The highlight of their tenure was undoubtedly Magesi’s stunning victory over Sundowns in the Carling Knockout Cup final at Toyota Stadium in November. However, that proved to be a fleeting moment of success, as the team has since struggled, leading to Larsen’s resignation and now Zothwane’s departure.
Magesi currently languishes at the bottom of the Betway Premiership table with seven points from 12 matches, one point above 15th-placed Richards Bay.
Interestingly, both Zothwane and Larsen have been heavily linked to Richards Bay, who are currently without a permanent head coach following the departure of Brandon Truter.
Ronnie Gabriel and Siboniso Gumede are currently overseeing the team.
