Makhubedu Raves About New Boss
Sekhukhune United assistant coach Mcdonald Makhubedu couldn’t hide his excitement about the arrival of new head coach Herr Hyballa.
Makhubedu also praised the supportive management team that’s fueling the club’s progress.
“It was a good course; we learned a lot during this course,” said Makhubedu fresh from earning his CAF B license.
“Sometimes you think you can do things on your own, without learning from the experts. We see football differently but when you come to such courses you learn a lot from them, and you also learn a lot from other coaches that are there,” he shared.
Shifting his focus to the new coach, Makhubedu expressed unwavering confidence in Hyballa’s success. “I think he will be one of the best in the league and people will learn from him. He will be one of the best imports that we have ever had in the country,” Makhubedu declared.
The admiration went beyond professional skills. Makhubedu lauded Hyballa’s character, highlighting his vast experience and humility.
“A very knowledgeable guy, he worked with NEC Nijmegen, the big club from Holland, he worked with Borussia Dortmund academies, very humble, very friendly, selfless,” said Makhubedu.
“He is a good guy. He has been very helpful to all the technical team members, and the players love him also.”
Acknowledging the adjustments that come with a new coach, Makhubedu emphasized building upon the previous season’s strong foundation. “His playing style will be different, but we’ll continue the momentum we built last season. It was a fantastic year where everyone contributed,” he explained.
“We finished fourth and qualified for CAF competitions. He’s joining a club on the rise, and he knows that. He’ll look to maintain that progress while taking Sekhukhune to the next level – there’s room for improvement.”
Makhubedu concluded by praising the management’s collaborative spirit and unwavering support. “Our scouting department, led by the legendary Themba Sthole, works incredibly hard. Management has been fantastic, always providing the resources we need,” he said. “The team is clearly growing, and you can see it in the caliber of players we’re attracting.”
