Nabi Reacts Angry On Chiefs Winning 7 Games In 2024

Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi expressed frustration when informed that the club had only won seven matches in 2024.
He emphasized that he was brought in to rebuild the club after a disappointing previous season and that immediate expectations of miracles were unrealistic.
Nabi also responded that he can’t speak on the previous coaches who were at the club this year, as Chiefs ended 2024 with a win over Chippa United in the Betway Premiership at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban on Sunday.
However, it was Chiefs’ seventh win in 28 matches in all competitions in 2024, having won two in 2023/24 season this year, four in the league this season, and one in the cup competition, the 4-0 win over SuperSport United in the first round of the Carling Knockout Cup.
When Nabi was informed that Chiefs won only seven matches in 2024, the coach, who was appointed in June, said he came in for the project as the club finished outside the top eight last season.
“Bro, honestly, why don’t you accept that I came for the project?” replied when he was asked by Sportswire.
“Why you media refuse that? I give you a question, why do you refuse? Because it is not good for you, the media.
“You need [write to get] reaction from people. If the coach talks about the process for the building the team, don’t provoke reaction from the fans and the business for yourself, this is not good.
“You push myself only the games – ‘why you are winning one’? I come for the project, guys. I trust in my project with Kaizer Chiefs, I know you don’t like to listen to this.
“Because, why? Before I came, you listened to me when I spoke about building, building. You don’t like listening on talks of building. But I come to build, you want that or you don’t want that. You understand me?
“Because if you talk about another response like this, it’s like I’m not the right coach. Listen to me guys, I talked to you in June and in September, I come to build this season. We need steps and all steps have objectives, evaluation, scientific. Now, ‘I want to win all the games!’
“It’s not correct like that. We believe in this project and we are going to do everything to make it happen, to make a success.
“Because if you say seven games won in the whole year and they [the club] have coaches before, I don’t think we have to respond to those who were here before us.”
The victory over Chippa lifted Chiefs to seventh place in the Betway Premiership table with 15 points from 10 matches, overtaking both Chippa United and Golden Arrows.
