AmaZulu Complete Ofori Signing
AmaZulu has confirmed that they have signed free agent goalkeeper Richard Ofori.
The 30-year-old Ghanaian international is joining the club after he was released by Orlando Pirates at the end of last season.
However, Usuthu have not disclosed how many years he has signed for.
Ofori, who will battle in goals with Veli Mothwa and Olwethu Mzimela this Betway Premiership’s season, is looking forward to make an impact.
The former Orlando Pirates and Maritzburg United player expressed his excitement about the move to KZN, a province he considers close to his heart.
“I’m happy to be here in KZN again. It feels like home, as KwaZulu Natal was where I first arrived in South Africa. We’re here to work and continue the journey. The team is a big club, the oldest in the country, and I’m here to contribute,” said Ofori.
He also praised his fellow goalkeepers, emphasizing the importance of unity. “The team has excellent goalkeepers, and together, we aim to work as a unit to help the club achieve its goals,” Ofori added.
Ofori has featured in 156 matches in PSL since he arrived in the 2017/18 season, keeping 21 clean sheets.
If all documents are in order, Ofori might make Usuthu’s debut when they face Marumo Gallants at Toyota Stadium on Saturday (20:00).
