Chiefs Secure Cross From Arrows
Kaizer Chiefs have bolstered their defensive options with the signing of left-back Bradley Cross from Golden Arrows.
This acquisition comes amidst challenges in securing Fawaaz Basadien from Stellenbosch FC.
Cross, a product of Newcastle United’s academy, joined Arrows from Maritzburg United last season. He played a pivotal role in Arrows’ campaign, featuring in 24 matches across all competitions.
The addition of Cross is particularly timely given Chiefs’ injury concerns at left-back. Both Bongani Sam and Edmilson Dove are currently sidelined, leaving the position thin.
“Bradley’s signing aligns with our strategic vision of continuing to strengthen our team and get ready compete when the season starts,” says Sporting Director, Kaizer Motaung Jr.
“We are confident that his addition will bring a new level of energy, international experience and skill to our squad. We look forward to seeing him in action and contributing to our success.”
Moreover, there are rumors that center-back Thatayaone Dithlokwe may depart the club due to differences with new coach Nasreddine Nabi and the team’s foreign quota limitations.
Cross joins a growing list of new signings for Chiefs ahead of the 2024/25 season. Other notable additions include Fiacre Ntwari, Rushwin Dortley, Gaston Sirino, Sam, and Miguel.
The Soweto giants will kick off their campaign with a clash against Marumo Gallants at Toyota Stadium on 14 September.
