Former Pirates And Sundowns Joins Phezulu FC

Experienced defender Siyabonga Zulu has made a move to the Mpumalanga ABC Motsepe League, joining Phezulu FC.

The former Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns player brings a wealth of experience to the ambitious side.

Zulu was most recently with NB La Masia in the Motsepe Foundation Championship, but his time there was cut short due to the club’s relegation. Despite a brief stint, Zulu made a notable impact, featuring in 11 league matches.

Prior to his time at La Masia, Zulu spent three seasons with Mamelodi Sundowns, winning two league titles. Although he didn’t see as much playing time as he would have liked, Zulu’s presence contributed to the club’s success. He was signed ahead in the second half of the 2017/18 season alongside Gaston Sirino, Jeremy Brockie and Aubrey Ngoma.

Zulu’s career began at Orlando Pirates, where he was part of the Nedbank Cup-winning team in 2010/11. He also won the MTN8 the following season.

Phezulu FC has also strengthened their attacking options with the signing of Roggert Nyundu, a former AmaZulu and Black Leopards striker. Nyundu joins Phezulu after helping Kruger United earn promotion to the Motsepe Foundation Championship.
