Davids Departs Raja For Simba SC Head Coach Role
Moroccan giants Raja Casablanca have confirmed the departure of their assistant coach, Fadlu Davids.
Davids, who previously served as assistant coach at Orlando Pirates, is poised to be announced as the new head coach of Simba SC.
A recent UEFA Pro Licence graduate, Davids is set to take the helm at Wana Msimbazi after achieving success as Raja’s assistant coach. The team secured both the league title and the Throne Cup this season, defeating FAR Rabat in the final on Monday.
Davids won’t be going it alone at Simba. Darien Wilken will join him as assistant coach, while Mueez Kajee will bolster the technical team as a performance analyst. Notably, both Wilken and Kajee were part of the Raja technical team led by former Orlando Pirates head coach Josef Zinnbauer this past season.
Rounding out the Simba technical staff is Riedoh Berdien, who brings experience from Mamelodi Sundowns and Tanzanian club Young Africans as a strength and conditioning coach. The goalkeeper coach position is still to be confirmed.
Davids, whose coaching career includes stints at Orlando Pirates, Chippa United, Maritzburg United, and Bloemfontein Celtic, will replace Algerian manager Abdelhack Benchikha, who resigned in April of this year.
