Khabba Cup Crowns Two For Joy Champions: Unearthing SA’s Football Future

Two for Joy emerged victorious in the 2024 Khabba Cup final, defeating Star Pirates 4-2 on penalties after a thrilling 1-1 draw. The electric atmosphere kept spectators on the edge of their seats throughout the championship match.
The Khabba Cup, sponsored by South Africa’s leading sports betting operator, Hollywoodbets, capped off an exciting weekend showcasing top-tier youth football talent. Two for Joy walked away with the coveted R120,000 grand prize, while Star Pirates secured the runner-up position and R50,000.

Held across King Zwelithini, Glebe, and SJ Smith stadiums in Durban, the Khabba Cup witnessed 36 teams from the SAFA KZN and Eastern Cape regions battle it out in a fierce competition. Founded by former professional player Manqoba Mkhize, the tournament has rapidly become a respected youth development platform attracting scouts nationwide.

The Khabba Cup’s mission is to discover raw talent for the Premier Soccer League (PSL). Now in its third year, the tournament has already produced success stories like Yonnela Mbuthuma, currently playing for Richards Bay FC in the DSTV Premiership.
The event featured additional excitement with curtain-raiser matches between Gospel Stars and Ukhozi FM, as well as a Legends team facing off against Manqoba Mkhize Eleven. Football legends like Steve Lekoelea, Siyabonga Sangweni, Japhet Zwane, Jabu Pule, and Hollywoodbets Brand Ambassador Teko Modise graced the event, adding prestige and fanfare.
