Letlhaku Speak Of His Brilliant Performance

Mamelodi Sundowns rising star Kutlwano Letlhaku has praised the technical team after his outstanding match-of-the-match performance in their crucial win over Polokwane City on Wednesday.

The 18-year-old, who netted his first-ever Betway Premiership goal for the club, sealed a brace to secure all three points for Sundowns.

“I’ve been trying, the technical team has been pushing me. It’s not easy on this team. I worked hard, I should be proud,” said Letlhaku, reflecting on his performance on SuperSport TV.

Sundowns had suffered a 1-0 loss to Polokwane City last month when Bulelani Nikani’s 82nd-minute strike handed them defeat. However, the team made a strong comeback, overcoming their bogey side with Letlhaku’s brace, both of which were set up by Arthur Sales.

Letlhaku explained that their success was a result of a well-planned strategy forged on the training ground.

“It started on the training ground. We knew we needed two number 10s because they play with a single six. So, we teamed up and tore them apart,” Letlhaku said with a smile.

The young forward, promoted from Sundowns’ DStv Diski Challenge, had an impressive season with the club’s youth team, scoring 10 goals and providing nine assists.

After making his mark in the senior team, Letlhaku reflected on the pride of being seen by his peers—players like Asekho Tiwane, Siyabonga Mabena, and Malibongwe Khoza—who also rose through Sundowns’ development ranks.

“It makes me happy because we work very hard and the coaches are pushing us,” he said, expressing his joy at the recognition from his teammates and coaches.

Letlhaku’s performance is a clear indication of the bright future ahead for both him and Sundowns, driven by hard work, teamwork, and strong coaching.
