Malesela Back At Gallants

Marumo Gallants have appointed Dan Malesela as the club’s new coach following the sudden departure of Dylan Kerr.
Sportswire was informed on Tuesday morning that Kerr’s decision to leave stemmed from his disagreement with the proposed coaching structure.
“Following disagreements with the management team regarding the co-coaching structure and other management processes, coach Dylan Kerr has resigned with immediate effect,” the club stated.
This marks Malesela’s third stint with Gallants. He was initially appointed in November 2021 before mysteriously leaving in July 2022, a departure he claimed to be unaware of. His previous tenure ended after Gallants lost the Nedbank Cup final to Mamelodi Sundowns, who completed a treble that season.
Malesela returned to the club in September in the 2022/23 season after leaving his co-coaching role at Royal AM, but his second stint lasted only five months.
His previous role was with Baroka FC, but he was sacked him in May after they lost to University of Pretoria in the first game of the PSL promotion and relegation playoffs.
Gallants are currently hard at work preparing for their return to the PSL top flight following the acquisition of the Moroka Swallows franchise.
