Road To AFCON 2025 Begins With Qualifier Draw In Johannesburg

The journey to the Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025 kicks off with the qualifiers draw on 4 July in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The ceremony, held at SuperSport studios, starts at (14:30)

48 nations, including the preliminary round winners (Chad, Eswatini, Liberia, and South Sudan), will be divided into 12 groups of four. Reigning champions Côte d’Ivoire lead the pack alongside Algeria, Angola, Benin, and more.

The qualifiers begin in September 2024, aiming to select the 24 teams that will compete for Africa’s biggest football tournament in Morocco next year.

Following the excitement of the 2023 tournament in Côte d’Ivoire, expect another thrilling journey to determine the champion of the 35th edition. CAF legends, team representatives, and organizers will witness the draw unfold. Bafana, in this year’s AFCON finals, claimed the bronze medal after beating DR Congo which was for the first time in 24 years.
