Nabi: We Will Try To Win And Entertain Fans
Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi aims to provide an entertaining spectacle when they host Mamelodi Sundowns in the Carling Knockout quarter-final at FNB Stadium on Saturday (18:00).
While Nabi promised Amakhosi fans that they would do everything possible to win the game and reach the semi-finals, the primary goal is to entertain the fans.
These two sides previously faced off in an exciting encounter before the September international break in the Betway Premiership. Sundowns controversially claimed a 2-1 victory at FNB Stadium. The game sparked controversy as referee Skhumbuzo Gasa was targeted by missiles from Chiefs fans, who felt he made several incorrect decisions that favored Sundowns.
As expected, when these two footballing giants clash, a thrilling encounter is anticipated at the iconic FNB Stadium. Adding to the excitement, the match has sold out, as confirmed by the Premier Soccer League on Friday morning.
“If you remember the last game against Mamelodi Sundowns, I feel it was a good game of football with a lot of entertainment,” said Nabi.
“Technically, tactically on both sides too. We hope and believe that the game that is coming this Saturday is going to be entertaining for all South African fans and everyone to enjoy.
“We know that both teams are going to do everything they can to win the game and qualify. Mamelodi Sundowns has been one of the biggest teams in Africa in these last years which doesn’t take away that we are Kaizer Chiefs, we are coming to this game with a lot of confidence and we will do everything to win and to quality, which is the nature of every League Cup.
“We are confident in our abilities on Saturday.”
