Official: Sundowns Renew Zwane’s Contract
Mamelodi Sundowns have officially confirmed the extension of Themba Zwane’s contract.
The 34-year-old midfielder has signed a one-year deal with the club, keeping him at Loftus Versfeld Stadium for at least another season.
The extension comes as no surprise, given Zwane’s continued importance to the team. Last season, he led Sundowns to a record-breaking seventh consecutive league title.
Zwane has been a key figure for Sundowns since joining the club in 2011. During his tenure, he has won numerous titles, including eight league championships, three Nedbank Cups, two Carling Knockout Cups, one MTN8, the CAF Champions League, the CAF Super Cup, and the African Football League.
The midfielder was also part of the Bafana Bafana squad that won the bronze medal at the Africa Cup of Nations earlier this year.
Despite his age, Zwane remains a vital player for both Sundowns and the South African national team. His experience and leadership qualities are invaluable to both sides. Zwane’s contract extension was revealed on the same time as that of midfielder partner Teboho Mokoena.
