Nabi Determined To Deliver Nedbank Cup Glory For Chiefs

Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi is focused on bringing the Nedbank Cup to the Amakhosi faithful, ahead of their final against Orlando Pirates at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday.

Despite the team’s ninth place in the Betway Premiership with 30 points, Nabi is prioritizing the domestic cup triumph.

The last time Chiefs won the Nedbank Cup was in 2014 under coach Stuart Baxter, who led the team to victory against Orlando Pirates at the same venue.

This historical context adds weight to Nabi’s determination to deliver a winning performance.

The Buccaneers, meanwhile, are seeking to make history by winning the Nedbank Cup for the third consecutive time under coach Jose Riveiro.

Pirates have already achieved this feat in the MTN8 Cup, showcasing their dominance in South African football.

With Amakhosi struggling in the league, the Nedbank Cup final represents a chance for redemption and a much-needed trophy to boost team morale.

“We don’t want to talk too much, but I think we’ll give our all to offer them [the fans] the Nedbank Cup,” Nabi said.

“I think that’s what they want, and we’re going to whatever we can to make them happy.”

Nabi’s commitment to giving his all to secure the win reflects the importance of this match for Amakhosi.

The outcome will determine whether the Amakhosi will end their trophy drought or continue their wait.
